This customer was having trouble maintaining comfortable temperatures in the home. In the winter, their furnace was working extremely hard to try and maintain a warm environment in the home. They also were concerned with the fact that parts of their home were unable to stay cool in the summer. After an inspection of this home's attic, it was clear that they needed some insulation updates. Our team started by removing any debris and trash, along with removing the old and outdated insulation. The team was then tasked with disconnecting the attic fan along with covering and sealing around the edges. Attic fans are typically used in the spring and summer and allow the home to stay cooler. An unknown fact about attic fans is that they can cause your home to be warmer in the summer and cause your HVAC system to work harder in season. Attic fans allow conditioned air into the attic instead of providing the desired temperature in the designated area. This causes our customer's homes to be less energy efficient and comfortable.
After disconnecting, covering, and sealing the attic fan, our team installed proper ventilation. This will reduce moisture in the attic and prevent the growth of mold and mildew.
